Militant captured alive in Doda, arrested during Joint operation of Army, police | KNO

Doda, July 24 (KNO) : One active militant was arrested on Wednesday evening during a joint operation of JK Police party and 26 RR in Thathri area of Doda district. The army spokesman told KNO that the militant was captured on basis of reliable information about the presence and movement of militants in forest area of Thathri. "A joint operations party of District Police Doda and 26 RR launched search operation and cordoned the forest area falling in the jurisdiction of Police station Thathri," the spokesman told KNO. He said the area was cordoned off and one militant of LeT outfit namely Jamal Din Gujjar S/O Khair Din R/O Pathna Keshwan Kishtwar was captured alive during the search operation in Phagsoo forest. "He was active for the last one year. One AK Rifle, 01 Magazine of AK, 01 Pouch and other edible items were recovered from the arrested militant," the spokesman told KNO. He said the militant was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakhs. "Jamal Din was earlier injured in an encounter which had taken place in Sarawan Forest in Kishtwar on June 22 and was hiding since then," the spokesman said. (KNO)
